Kartell Componibili Smile 2 Tier Storage

Kartell Componibili Smile 2 Tier Storage

Anna Castelli Ferrieri’s iconic storage unit from 1969, the Componibili, is reinterpreted by designer Fabio Novembre, with the classic round holes re-fashioned as a playful nod to today’s emoticons—and as a way of bringing a smile to the face of anyone who uses it. The Componibili Smile is the result of a design competition that was held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Componibili. From all of the various artist and designer interpretations of the iconic design, Smile was the only one that made it into mass production.

Made from red, water-resistant ABS plastic by Kartell, a manufacturer in MoMA’s collection, the Componibili Smile is perfect for a children’s room, but adults can also enjoy it for use in other areas of the home as well.
It's useful for holding items such as housewares, cosmetics, towels, toys, books, tools, electronics and more. The tongue-and-groove design allows the doors to seamlessly slide open. It has a round shape with a recessed top and two shelves. Produced by Kartell, a manufacturer with work in MoMA’s collection. The Componibili Smile measures 15.75h x 12.6"diam. with 5.6h x 9.25w x 12"d shelves. Please note that the Componibili is not meant to be stacked.
