Cirque Pendant Lamp - Copper
For the Cirque Pendant Lamp, Swedish designer Clara von Zweigbergk was inspired by a trip to Copenhagen’s Tivoli Gardens—the lamp’s design expresses the mood and shapes of the carousels, spaceships and other spinning objects at the Gardens’ amusement park, including the well-known onion-shaped domes on several of the buildings in the Gardens. The lamp’s stripes express Zweigberk’s vision of spinning objects whose details blur into horizontal bands of color as they pick up speed.
Manufactured by Louis Poulsen in Denmark from drawn aluminum, the Cirque Pendant Lamp casts soft, atmospheric light. The matte white interior ensures direct, downwardly directed light distribution. Even when not illuminated, the 7.4h x 5.9”diam. lamp has a magical presence. “You can gaze up into the lamp and imagine you’re beneath a hot-air balloon,” says von Zweigbergk.
